BYOD IPADS PROGRAM 2024

Year 3 2024 Student Information

After a review of the current BYOD Program, the School Council has approved that for 2024, students enrolled in Year 3 will be provided access to iPads owned and kept at school. This is the same program we offer to students in Years Foundation/1/2.

There will be no BYOD iPads for Year 3 in 2024.

Year 4/5/6 2024 Student Information

The HWHPS BYOD Program will continue to be operational for students in Year 4, 5, and 6 in 2024. Any new devices for students in Year 4-6 can be set up by dropping them into the IT Office at the Horsham West Campus.

Exiting Students 2023 Information

Please note that in preparation for the end of the year, HWHPS will be removing Meraki from Year 6 Student's iPads (returning them to Home Devices).

This will occur from the 18th to the 20th of December 2023.

There will be no action required from Students or Parents for this to be removed. HWHPS will action the removal of the device from the school system remotely.

This will NOT wipe the device, it will just simply remove any School Apps and School WiFi from the device.

If you have any concerns, please contact James Mutch via the XUNO App and a member of IT will be in touch asap.

YEAR 4/5/6 BYOD IPADS PROGRAM

Year 4/5/6 2024 Student Information

Year 4/5/6 iPads that have been purchased can be set up on the school system (Meraki - ready for 2024) from the 11th to the 13th of December 2023.

If you would like your child’s device set up prior to Christmas, please arrange for it to be dropped off at the Office at the Horsham West Campus during those three days.

Please ensure that the device is signed out of your Apple ID and factory wiped and ready for setup. If it is BRAND NEW, you don’t need to do anything before sending it in to be set up.

We have had a number of Parents ask about the new, 10th/11th Gen iPads. Please note that it does NOT include a headphones plug, therefore cannot be used with wired headphones (without an adapter). HWHPS highly recommends headphones for students and finds the cabled option to be easier for students, but it is up to Parents' choice.

The 9th Gen iPad is still being sold and may be more suitable for students at this time and will be around $200 cheaper than the new 10th Gen Model.

You are also able to purchase iPads at a discounted price from the suppliers listed below (JB HiFi and TCT Horsham).

We are offering this as an early bird setup, however, we will set up devices at the beginning of the year also for anyone we cannot complete this Term.
