Google Classroom

This guide will explain the steps to prepare for a virtual learning environment and provides you with an overview of the Horsham West and Haven Primary School remote learning system. If you have any questions after reading this guide, please contact your classroom teacher.

Google Classroom

HWHPS uses Google Classroom as its core online learning platform. Google Classroom is part of a larger G Suite learning system. It works across all devices, Windows and Apple, Android and iPhones and iPads. It will work on any device that allows internet access.

Google Classroom allows us to:

- Continue classroom lessons regardless of location

- Communicate between teachers and students

- Create assignments or tasks

- Submit student work

- Upload or link to resources and videos.


Using Google Classroom on a PC, Apple Mac or desktop computer

1. Install Google Chrome (preferred browser)

2. Type in www.google.com and sign in with the above details

3. Search for ‘Google Classroom’ and click on the link

4. Click on your child’s class

Using Google Classroom on a smartphone, iPad or Android tablet

1. Download the Google Classroom app. It is also recommended that you download the apps that may be used. These are Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Drive.

2. Sign in to the Google Classroom app using the above details.

3. This the main hub for the learning and links to the other required apps.

4. Make sure that you check here regularly for communications from teachers.
