The Visual Arts Program at Horsham West and Haven Primary School promotes creativity, discussion and problem solving in all year levels. Students are encouraged to explore and experiment with a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, pottery, collage, textiles and drawing.
Our young artists learn to openly and honestly critique work to help themselves and others to improve and develop their art. Students are encouraged and supported to work with their mistakes, problem solving to ‘fix’ any issues. Through the process of creating art, students are able to realise that the journey is as important as the destination.
Classes are timetabled as one 50 minute session per week in the purpose built art room at Horsham West, and in the central, open space at Haven. Due to the nature of its growing number of students, the Haven campus is in the process of designing a purpose built art room.
